Final Summary

Minutes of the Embrun Meeting

Embrun, April 7th 2005

Coordinator few suggestions about next meetings: in Hoorn, works will be about the Red Ring; in Oulx, about the Green Ring.

Dutch delegation proposes the meeting to be held from 7th to 14th November.

Other delegations agree.

Dutch delegation Works are expected to start on Monday at 6:00 p.m. with a first meeting and then a dinner; the departure will be on Friday. Hotel expenses will be about € 50,00 p.p. a day.

French delegation Some problems to start works at 6 p.m.: they are going to travel by bus to Hoorn and so they are not likely to get there on time for the first meeting.

Dutch delegation As for the number of students to take to Hoorn, it will not be  a problem to give hospitality to more than 3.

Other delegations Possible number of students: Hungary 4; Czech Republic 3-4; France 6; Spain 6; Italy 3-4.

Dutch delegation In Hoorn we will try to start talking about paralympics, about the problems disabled athletetes are liable to cope with when they practice sports. Each delegation should work at a survey about disabled kids, men, women practising competive sports, maybe inviting paralympic athletes at school. After collecting information, each will decide how to report it to other countries: e.g. dramatization, DVD, VHS, short story, etc. We would like to prepare a video competition in order to have a real festival, with videos lasting 2 minutes for each country

Coordinator A deadline to send material could be the first week of September. It is also important to keep in mind that this is a Comenius project, that means we get money for teachers. That's why we should try to find a common work for us, more than for students, who could stay by guest families. Let's think about 2-3 sessions of two hours each for teachers only. We could also prepare a publication with photos of the teachers.

Hungarian delegation proposes to create a syllabus, for students who cannot go to school everyday. It could include a curriculum and some rules, meant to organise their     approach to the school life when they are not attending classes.

Dutch delegation It could include also some suggestions about the means we could use to help students develop their talent: this could give teachers the possibility to talk about their own subjects.

Coordinator I would like to remind you the importance of E-Twinning: if we use it on the net with our students we can get funds for our meeting as well. As for the international meeting to be held in Oulx, we have chosen the week between 14th and 20th March, so that it would be possible for us to go to the final cerimony of the Paralympics on the 19th . Each country could come with a class and should communicate the number of students at least within the second half of May. The plan for students' activities will include presence at one of the final competitions, at the final cerimony and at least a cultural visit.

French delegation Ours is a training school, so mainly with male classes: could this be a problem?

Dutch delegation We need to be sure about the numbers of student you could host, in order to book flights in advance.
